Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty — After falling in love with the HBO limited series, I knew I had to read the book, which takes a closer look at the lives of three women and the secrets they share. I am already 80 pages in and hooked!
The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson — This book was inspiration for 1963’s (and 1999’s) “The Haunting,” one of my first-watched supernatural movies. I look forward to seeing how these spirits resonate on the page vs. the screen.
Will Storr vs. The Supernatural: One Man’s Search for the Truth About Ghosts by Will Storr — This book of nonfiction will (hopefully) act as research as I prepare to write more supernatural/spiritual stories for my thesis collection of stories in the fall.
Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen — Reading YA fiction is a favorite pastime of mine and I wish to revisit the genre with this Dessen classic.
