Here are some things I am planning to read between working on my manuscript, cleaning my room, and planning my December wedding. Hopefully these books will help with maintaining my sanity and keeping the creative juices flowing!
Portrait of a Killer by Patricia Cornwell — I love mystery novels, especially those written by Lee Child, but I am spreading out since this one is about Jack the Ripper.
A Map of Home by Randa Jarrar — I’ve been wanting to read this book by one of our Fresno State MFA faculty ever since I got it, and now is my chance!
A Dying Fall by Elly Griffiths — Another mystery novel to read between poetry writing.
Listening Long and Late by Peter Everwine — A little something to help me with my forthcoming interview with Professor Everwine, who is this year’s final judge for the Philip Levine Prize for Poetry book contest, and it will also be a good read for its lyric and narrative poetry.
The Natural History of Unicorns by Chris Lavers — Because who doesn’t want to learn about real-life unicorns? And I have this ever growing love for history, the weirder the better.
