“Constellations on the Page”

con-stel-la-tion n.
1. An arbitrary formation of stars perceived as a figure or design.

2. The configuration of planets at the time of one’s birth, regarded by
astrologers as determining one’s character or fate.

3. A gathering or an assemblage, especially of prominent persons or
things: The symposium was attended by a constellation of artists and
writers.

4. A set or configuration, as of related items, properties, ideas, or
individuals.

The San Joaquin Literary Association, a student group from Fresno State, is sponsoring a student reading of “Constellations on the Page.” Talented CSU Fresno writers of fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction will present their original works—-writing that explores connections between images and ideas, characters, times, and places. The Fresno-famous band, Inflight Nymphs, will shine its own light on the evening reading. So if you’ve ever wondered why we feel compelled to connect the disparate parts of our human experience, why we seek to make meaning where none existed before, you should join these inspiring artists for a performance you will be glad to be part of.
