One of the longest running performance poetry events in town right now is the Inner Ear Poetry Jam, celebrating its fourth anniversary next Thursday, May 18. The event gets started at 7:30 p.m. at the Full Circle Brewery downtown, 620 F. Street. Cost: $5.
The Inner Ear is co-hosted by MFA poetry student Deanna Pierro, who is pictured above with fellow conspirators DJ Jordan, left, and Bryan Medina.
The Inner Ear Poetry Jam, held the third Thursday of each month, bills itself as “a live open mic venue showcasing Central California artists in spoken-word, art, music, and performance.”
A similar performance event, the Beat-Down Poetry Slam, is held on the third Tuesday of each month at the Starline in the Tower District.
